Brother Joseph Broussard, Jr., 84 a resident of Jennings, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023.  Brother Broussard was born in Jennings, LA., on December 15, 1939, to Jack Broussard and Lena Bernice Booth Broussard.  He received his formal education at Jefferson Davis High School, Grambling State University, Golden State University, and Baylor University.  Brother Broussard served honorably in the United States Army and retired at the rank of Captain.  He served in the Medical Corp and retired as a Heath Care Administrator for the United States Veterans Administration Hospital in Batavia, NY and Chicago, IL.  Brother Broussard was a devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Pernell R. Trent, Sr.  Brother Broussard was active in his church and served as a Deacon.  He was a Civic leader in the Jennings Community and an avid golfer.  Brother Broussard was a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity / Rho Chi Chapter.

Brother Broussard was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lena Broussard; his brother Ralph Broussard Sr.

Brother Broussard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judy Fontenot Broussard; his daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" Crader and Tisha Chretien; his grandchildren,Tareah Crader, Michaela Crader, Kaydell Crader, Colby Chretien and Ashlyn Marie January; his great-grandchildren, Allen "AJ" Crader, Miss Armani Crader, Ta'Kyrah M. Randle, Mhaila R. Crader, Kai'Zlynn Z. Crader, and Ta'Kyrhii T. Crader.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2024, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary.  Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:30 am at St. Paul Baptist Church with Reverend Pernell R. Trent, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.  Full Miliary Funeral Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the United States Army.
