Joyce Ann Prudhomme, 82, transitioned from earthly labor on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Camelot Brookside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jennings, LA.  Joyce was born on March 1, 1944, to the late Anna Lee Gordon Prudhomme and Adam Prudhomme.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.  Joyce loved Jesus Christ and was a woman of strong faith.  She was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Welsh, LA, pastored by Reverend Nathan Stevens.  Joyce worked for many years as a Caregiver at Robinswood School for The Developmentally Disable in Lake Charles, LA. She also worked as a cook for various restaurants.

Joyce enjoyed watching game shows, and Steve Harvey was her favorite game show host, hosting the popular Family Feud Game Show.  She loved helping other people and was known for being a great cook.  Joyce loved her family and spending time with her many friends.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Michael Wayne Prudhomme of Welsh, LA; one grandson, Devondrick Lewis of Kinder, LA; one brother, Steven Lyons of Welsh, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Anna Prudhomme; her brothers, Don Prudhomme, Marvin Prudhomme, Ronnie J. Prudhomme, and Larry Washington; and one sister, Joyce Marie Prudhomme.

Visiting with family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 710 Welsh Street in Welsh, LA.  Celebration of Life Services will be held in the church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Nathan Stevens, Pastor officiating.  Interment will follow in Eastridge Cemetery in Welsh, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
