Joyce Janice Rooks, 63 Mrs. Joyce J. Rooks went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2014 while at her residence. She was a native of Jennings, LA., and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Joyce is survived by two daughters, Joya Rooks (Jeffrey) Southall of Jennings, LA., and Jamye Rooks of Baton Rouge, LA; her ex-husband, James Rooks of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Lester (Rosemary) Janice of Lake Charles, LA., and Joseph (Claudia) Janice Sr. of Jennings, LA; one sister-in-law, Eula Janice of Eunice, LA; one Goddaughter, Patrice Delahoussaye of Dallas, TX; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Toney and Lillie Janice; one sister, Anna Janice; one brother, Paul Janice. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in the David J. and Rosa W. Fondel Sr. Church Chapel with Reverend Derrick D. Hill officiating. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 12:00 noon until time of Funeral. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
