Mr. Junious Woods, age 84, was called from his earthly labor to his heavenly reward on March 7, 2015. Mr. Woods was a native and life-long resident of Elton, LA. He was born on April 7, 1930 to the late Elnora and Ernest Woods Sr. He worked 27 years as a laborer for Local 207. He served his country in the United States Army were he was awarded numerous medals. He received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church of Elton, LA., the Rev. Freddie Jack was his pastor. He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife of 63 years, Alice Jack Woods, five sons, Marvin Woods Sr. of Lake Charles, LA., Rev. Darrell Lee (Karon) Woods of Elton, LA., Kevin Ray (Jennifer) Woods of Lake Charles, LA., Gary (Debra) Woods of Lake Charles, LA., and Carlas John (Kim) Woods of Elton, LA., two sisters, Elzena Woods Cole and Ida Woods both of Lake Charles, La., 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elnora and Ernest Woods Sr., four brothers, Ernest Woods Jr., Nora Woods, Lawrence Woods, and Clifton Woods, three sisters, Gladys Woods Borden, Olivia Woods Williams, and Lottie Woods Townsend, one daughter, Renetta Sue Woods, and one son, Ronald Wayne Woods Sr.. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church of Elton, LA., with Reverend Freddie Jack officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral. Burial will be in Chretien Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
