Lawrence Dicks Jr., of Lake Charles, LA., died on Monday, April 28, 2014. Lawrence was born in Lafayette, LA., on November 11, 1959 to his loving parents, Ella Mae and Lawrence Dicks Sr. Lawrence was self-employed as a mechanic and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles. He is survived by two children, Lawndale Washington and Victor Mathis, both of Houston, TX; his mother, Ella Mae Dicks of Lake Charles; four brothers, Patrick (Mary Bills) Dix, Steve Dicks, Stanley Dicks and Floyd Dicks, all of Lake Charles; three sisters, Helen (Curtis) Rougeau of Eunice, LA., Freda Faye Dicks and Priscilla Hursey, both of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Dicks Sr; two brothers, Jimmy Dicks and Christopher Dicks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Anthony Rojo officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Sound Worship Center (formerly St. Matthew Lutheran Church) at 810 N. Shattuck Street. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
