Lawrence Homer Simon, 101 Mr. Lawrence H. Simon was called from his earthly home to his heavenly home on April 17, 2012 while in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Simon was born on February 8, 1911 in Freetown, LA to the late Josephine Brown and Homer Simon. He was a resident of Jennings, LA and was self employed as a Mechanic and House Mover until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church of Jennings, LA., pastored by Reverend Pernell R. Trent Sr. Mr. Simon leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Margarete Obey Seeley-Simon. He also leaves eight sons, James, Fred, John, Clarence "Gene", Howard, Stanley, Dwight, & Mark Simon; eight daughters, Sharon Flin, Norma, Ann, Barbara Harris, Flora "Gail" Mixon, Geraldine "Gerri" Daniel, Wanda "Faye" Bell, & Judy Simon-Stephenson. He was preceded in death by both parents, Josephine & Homer Simon and one son, Lawrence "Buddy" Simon, Jr. of Elton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Paul Baptist Church from 4pm until the time of Funeral Services at 6pm at the church. Dismissal will be at 11:00am on Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Paul Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Peterson Memorial Cemetery in Jennings, LA., under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
