Mr. Lee Andrew Willis, 59, passed away peacefully at his residence in Jennings, Louisiana on Friday, August 3, 2018.  Lee was a native of Tallulah, Louisiana and resident of Jennings.  He was born on September 7, 1958 in Tallulah, Louisiana to his proud parents, the late Cremolia Levy-Willis and Samuel Willis, Sr.  Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Old Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Tallulah, LA., pastored by Reverend Roosevelt Williams.  He was a current member of Union Baptist Church in Jennings, LA., pastored by Revered Gerald W. Perkins, Sr.  He truly enjoyed his childhood, playing with his siblings, cousins and schoolmates.

Lee was educated in the Madison Parish School System and played basketball and base ball at Thomastown High School and was a 1976 graduate.  He went on to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. and majored in Animal Science.  He later entered the United States Army in November of 1982 and was awarded the following medals & ribbons;  Army Commendation, Army Achievement, Good Conduct, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Hand Grenade Expert, and the M-16 Rifle Marksman.  Lee later moved to Jennings, LA and was currently employed by Wal Mart Corporation as a Store Greeter for the past 11 years.  He truly enjoyed his job at Wal Mart as he was a people person and loved conversing with everyone.  His hobbies and enjoyment included cheering on the New Orleans Saints and the Southern University Jaguars.  He enjoyed collecting Army Caps, baseball caps and  spending time with family and friends.

Lee was a member of the Frank Thibodeaux Post No. 520 of the American Legion of Jennings, LA.  He was a Board Member of the Jennings Housing Authority.

Lee is survived by his brothers, Samuel (Cherry) Willis, Jr. of Jennings, LA., Darnell Willis of Decatur, TX., and Bruce Willis of Memphis, TN.; sisters, Irene (Samuel) Spearman of Grambling, LA., Sonya (Brian) Burden of St. Louis, MO., and Rosemary Jackson of Chicago, IL.; a special friend, Myra Skinner of Jennings, LA.; 4 nieces, Shauntisa Willis, Ariel Riggs (Gary "Blue"), Monique Charles (Darius), and Amya Burden; 3 nephews, Adonis Burden, Jalen Willis, and Aubrey Burden; 2 great nephews, Gabriel and Garrison Riggs; 1 great niece, Garrielle Riggs; a close cousin, Robert Byrd Allen of Las Vegas, NV.; 2 uncles, Curtis Levy of Milwaukee, WI. and Tommie Giles of Tallulah, LA.; 2 best friends, Marvin Johnson of Vicksburg, MS. and Dan Michael Rueda of San Francisco, CA.; a host of friends and co-workers.

Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Cremolia Levy-Willis and his father, Samuel Willis, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Union Baptist Church, 1014 S Main St, Jennings, LA. with Pastor Gerald Perkins, Sr. officiating.  Visitation will be in the church at 9:00 am until the time of religious services.  Burial will be in the Louisiana National Cemetery on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 12:30 pm with Military Rites Accorded.
