Lorena Monroe Malveaux, 75

Mrs. Lorena Monroe Malveaux, a life-long resident of Jennings, LA., departed her earthly life on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Jennings American Legion Hospital.  She was born on October 19, 1942 to Loren Aplon Monroe and Joseph Irvin Monroe.  She is married to the love of her life, Mr. Ervin Malveaux, Sr.  Mrs. Lorena was a retired Cook with the Guest House in Jennings, LA after 20 years of service.  She was a faithful member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA., pastored by Reverend James Fontenot.

Mrs. Malveaux leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mr. Ervin Malveaux, Sr; one daughter, Australia Malveaux of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Ervin (Mary) Malveaux, Jr; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Yancy-Malveaux of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers, Leo Monroe of Beaumont, TX., and Ernest Monroe of Jennings, LA; brother-in-law, Leonard Malveaux; sisters, Celeste Simien of Lake Charles, LA. and Marybell (Harvey) Jackson of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Carletta Simon of Jennings, LA., Aisha Lindon of Rayne, LA., Kiana Yancy and Kasha Malveaux both of Lake Charles, LA., Brock Fontenot, Lance Simon, and John Nix, all of Jennings, LA; 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Malveaux; parents, Leren Aplon Malveaux and Joseph Irvin Monroe; grandson, Kealon Malveaux; brothers, James Monroe, Leonce Monroe, Sr. and Ivory Monroe; sisters, Willie Mae Tyler, Effie Tyler and Celestine Tyler; brother-in-law, Wayne Malveaux, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA. with Reverend James Fontenot, Pastor officiating.  Visitation will be in the church from 8:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services.  Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery in Jennings, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
