Mrs. Lorena Carter Pete, age 105, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Jennings American Legion Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born on April 23, 1912 in Westlake, LA. to her parents, Otoll Rideaux and Noamie Carter Rideaux.  She was a resident of Jennings, LA. and a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jennings, LA.

Lorena is survived by her children, Geraldine Watson of Jennings, LA., Judy Antoine of Lake Charles, LA., Edward Pete (Dora) of  Beaumont, TX., and Melvin Pete of Vallero, CA.

She was prececed in death by her parents, Otoll Rideaux and Noamie Carter Rideaux; children, Pearly Simon, Lawrence Pete, Sr., Ruby Hall, Eldridge Pete, Russel Pete, Iris Charles, Lela Cormier, Ella Pete Sims; siblings, Adam Rideaux, Ralph Rideaux, Junious Rideaux, Antoine Rideaux, Selina Perry, and Gus Rideaux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jennings, LA.  A Rosary will be held at 9:00 am in the church with visitation from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
