Ms. Lorraine Ann Moore, 60, a resident of Welsh, LA passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 29, 2024.  Lorraine was born in Lafayette, LA on June 19, 1963, to Alice C. Moore and Joseph M. Moore.  She was baptized at an early age and was a member St Joseph Catholic Church in Welsh, LA, pastored by Reverend Dr. Mathew Panackal.  Lorraine was self-employed as a Housekeeper until her health failed.  She loved eating out, playing card games, and spending time with her family, grandkids, and friends.

Lorraine leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Amanda Moore and Jana Moore; two sons, Dwayne Moore, Sr. and Johnathon Moore; one stepson, John Pitre, Jr.: six sisters, Anna F. Gabriel (Jeff) of Lafayette, LA., Norma Fontenot of Roanoke, LA., Sue Moore (Rogers) of Welsh, LA., Dianne Moore of Lake Charles, LA., and Florence Jean Moore of Jennings, LA.; six brothers, Lawrence Fontenot (Joyce), Steven Fontenot (Charolette). Jessie Fontenot all of Lafayette, LA., Leroy Fontenot (Elizabeth) of Opelousas, LA., McKinley Moore of Welsh, LA., and Elton Moore of Lafayette, LA; one godchild, Kasandra Moore; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Chavis and Joseph McKinley Moore; one sister, Sophie Edmond; one brother, George Fontenot.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, LA. Reverend Craig Sam will officiate.  Visiting with family and friends will be in the chapel from 9 am until the time of celebration services.  Cremation will follow under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
