Lula Mae Sanderford, 97, was born to the late Elix McZeal and Elvenia Leopaul McZeal on November 12, 1925 in Silverwood, LA. She departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2023.

Lula Sanderford was married to the late Felix Sanderford, Sr.  Lula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a lifelong member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.  Before Lula's health began to decline, she was a devoted member of the Deaconess Mission, a member of the Senior Choir and a member of the Mission as President. She truly enjoyed laboring at the church.

Lula retired from Notre Dame High School as a Cafeteria Worker after 18 years or dedicated services.  Also, she was a foster grandparent for 18 years.

Lula leaves to cherish her precious memories, one daughter, Lettie Wilridge of Crowley, LA; four grandchildren, Wynn Wilridge of Crowley, LA, Kelvin Wilridge (Debra) of Lafayette, LA, Byron Wilridge, Sr. (Sonjatina) of Crowley, LA, and Mardessa Poydras (Thomas) of Crowley, LA; one sister, Rosa Belle Ware of Port Arthur, TX; one niece, Dora Taylor (Lester) of Houston, TX; three nephews, Edward J. Handy, Charles McZeal and Joseph A. McZeal; one stepson, Felix Sanderford, Jr. of Woodland, CA; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Smith of Sacramento, CA; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives, godchildren and friends.

Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Sanderford, Sr.; her parents, Elix and Elvenia McZeal; two grandsons, Homer Wilridge, Jr. and Byrain Wilridge; two brothers, Dennis McZeal and Alex McZeal, Sr.; three sisters, Elizabeth Parks, Bessie Keel and Merline Wilson; a son-in-law, Homer Wilridge, Sr.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 927 West 7th Street in Crowley, LA.  Pastor, Reverend Sherard M. Joseph will officiate.  Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church.  Burial will follow in the West Crowley Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings. LA.
