Margie M. (Leopold) Cretchen, 86, was born on August 7, 1929 to Felicia Jones and Jim Leopold.  She was a homemaker and raised six children after the death of her husband Dudley Cretchen Sr.  She was a member first at New Hope Baptist Church of Mermentau, LA and after moving to Gueydan, LA., she became a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.  In her later years she moved back to the Silverwood Community and became a member of Little Sunlight Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Felicia Leopold; her husband, Dudley Cretchen Sr.; Sister, Mabel Andrus; 3 brothers, Junius Leopold, Minix Leopold, Willie Leopold; a niece Marrell Mattocks and a granddaughter Kimberly Hollier.

She leaves to celebrate her Homecoming her five daughters, Anna Duplechan, Wanda Cretchen, Brenda Campbell, Donna Hollier, Marilyn Cretchen; one son, Dudley Cretchen Jr; 15-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Margie now rejoices in heaven with her beloved husband, Dudley Cretchen Sr., her parents: Jim and Felicia Leopold; sister Mabel Andrus; 3 brothers: Junius Leopold, Minix Leopold, and Willie Leopold; a niece, Marrell Mattocks and a granddaughter Kimberly Hollier.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2. 2016 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Rhodes will officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am in the church until time of funeral.  Interment will be in the Silverwood Community Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
