Sister Martha Jean Johnson Boutte, 77 , was born on 1 April 1941 in Morse, LA.  Martha departed this life on 2 December 2018.  Preceding Martha in death were her parents, Narcisse and Mary Johnson; her brother, Norris Johnson; one son, George C. Boutte.  Martha accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church in Jennings, LA.  Martha attended Jefferson Davis High School here in Jennings, LA.   She united in marriage to John B. Boutte, Sr., and to this union, five children were born.

Martha loved to cook and went to Culinary School in Oklahoma City, OK.  She was employed by Jake Samara Fine Italian Restaurant, which started the "Make Your Own Pizzas."  She worked with many restaurants here in Jennings, LA.  While in Louisiana, Martha was very active with voter registration and worked at the Polling Centers in Jefferson Davis Parish.

Martha leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Debra Walker of Oklahoma City, OK., Rayford Johnson of Jennings, LA., Joanetta M. Boutte of Oklahoma City, OK., Sondra M. Boutte of Oklahoma City, OK. and Sophia Boutte (Rev. Clinton) Perry of Jennings, LA; one grandson, John B. Moss, Sr. of Oklahoma City, OK; two great-grandsons and two great granddaughters; Godchild, Arthur "Teenie" Etienne; two sisters, Betty A. Johnson of San Mateo, CA. and Ruthie M. Johnson of Jennings, LA; her special first-cousin, Carolyn Carter of Jennings, LA; a devoted friend, Cynthia McLean of Fayetteville, NC; a foster daughter, Donna Moss, Oklahoma City, OK; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 7, 2018 in the David J. & Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street, Jennings, LA.  Visitation will be in the Chapel from 8:00 am to 10:45 am.  Burial will be in the Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
