Mary Ann Matthews Levine, 64, a resident of Jennings, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2023, in Lake Charles, LA.  Mary was born on March 24, 1959, in Sacramento, California to the late Calvin U. Matthews Sr. and Josephine J Brown.  Mary accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and previously held memberships at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sacramento, CA and later Taylor Street Baptist Church in Sacramento, CA.  She completed her early childhood education at North Avenue Elementary School, Del Paso Junior High School and was a graduate of Grant High School in Sacramento, CA where she was a member of the Drill Team.  Mary remained married to the love of her life, Larry Joseph Levine until her passing.  Mary was previously self-employed as a Housekeeper and later was employed as a Housekeeper with various hotels.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Larry Joseph Levine of Jennings, LA; her children, Antionette McCastle (James) of Sacramento, CA, Michael Stanley of Reno, NV, Netirza Levine of Vallejo, CA, Leantria Levine-Field (Roderick) of Springdale, WA, Nahari Levine (Kayla) of Springdale, WA, and Lekissalita Levine of Springdale, WA; her grandchildren, Antoine Jackson, Charles Leon Lee Mitchell, Rashaad Mitchell, Jamison McCastle, and Jamisa McCastle; her brother, Calvin U. Matthews Jr; her sisters, Arnet Heath (Darryl), Janice Matthews, Joyce Coleman Dillard, Jackie Coleman, Rose Coleman, and Laura Coleman all of Sacramento, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Sr. & Josephine Matthews; one brother, Roosevelt Coleman.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 am -10:30 am on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA.  Graveside Services will be at 11:00 am in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 1610 Evangeline Hwy, Jennings, LA under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
