Michael James Brown, 62, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana.  Michael was a native and resident of Jennings, LA.  He was born on November 23, 1959, to Albert Brown and Emily Simon Brown.  Michael was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System.  After completing High School, Michael enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and served eight years.  Michael worked as a Deputy with Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Department and later worked for the State of Louisiana as a Security Guard with Sowela Community College in Jennings, LA.  Michael was a dedicated New Orleans Saints Football Fan and loved spending time with family and friends.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Courtney Brown (Brandon Lavan) of Elton, LA. and Tatiyana Brown of Scott, LA; his grandkids, Zeedyn Samone Kirk, Za'Niya Shari Kirk, both of Scott, LA; his father, Albert Brown of Jennings, LA; his sister, Nedra Candler (Anthony Sr.) of Jennings, LA; a host of other family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Simon Brown; his brother, Randall Brown; his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Celebration of Life Services for Michael will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 26, 2021, in Union Baptist Church, 1014 S. Main St., Jennings, LA.  Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr., Pastor will officiate.  Visiting with family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.  Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army.
