Michael Wayne Nixon, 56, of Welsh, LA. passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in a Lafayette hospital.  Michael was  a native of Jennings, Louisiana and a resident of Welsh, Louisiana.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Welsh, pastored by Reverend Jerry L. Jackson, Jr.  Michael was married to Geraldine Marie Nixon.  He formally worked in the Offshore Industry and Concrete Construction Industry before becoming disabled.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Marie Nixon; his father and grandparents.

Michael memories will be cherished by his wife, Geraldine Marie Nixon; two children, Gloria D. Green and Ja'Michael Nixon; two grandchildren, TaiJhe Green and Carter Green; three sisters, Shanella (Donald) Boudreaux of Beaumont, TX., Renetta (Brent) Robinson of Jennings, LA., and Rosalyn Sinegal of Beaumont, TX; five brothers, Edward (Mable) Nixon, Arthur (Brenda) Nixon, Nelson Nixon, Roland Sinegal all of Jennings, LA., and Joseph (Stacy) Senegal, Jr. of Shreveport, LA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 13, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church in Welsh, LA with Reverend Jerry L. Jackson, Jr. officiating.
