Mr. Navy Simon passed away during the early hours on the morning of February 19, 2023, at Lake Charles Care Center after a lengthy illness.  Mr. Simon was born on March 27, 1927, in Bell City, Louisiana to the late Tarlton Simon and Lizzie Allison Simon.  Navy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Hayes, LA. He was a hard worker at an early age, working as a farmer, cutting and selling timber to help care for his younger siblings after his father died at an early age.   Mr. Simon enlisted in the United States Army and served during the World War II conflict; he received the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal before receiving an Honorable Discharge in May of 1946.  Upon returning to civilian life, he worked for Sears and Robuck Company in the Automotive Department fixing flats for several years and later became a self-employed Carpenter.  He was a member of Old Emmanuel Baptist Church for several years and later united with the United Christian Fellowship Church in Lake Charles, LA.

Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Tarlton and Lizzie Simon; one son, Keith Simon; one daughter, Gretchen Simon; sisters, Agnes Mouton, Mildred Simon, Hazel Williams, Lilly Mae Victorian, and Frankie Mae Rankins; brothers, Ernest Simon and James Simon.

Mr. Simon is survived by his son, Mark Simon (Donna) of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Betty Jean Wilkins (Rev. Johnny) of Lake Charles, LA., Gracie Roane of Lake Charles, LA., and Mary Buchannan (Floyd) of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Elton Simon (Tonya) of Richmond, TX; one grandchild, Nicole Simon and Chanielle Skipper of Lake Charles, LA; great-grandchildren, Donaven Wise, Jaymon Skipper, Jhalissia Skipper, Jaymarkus Skipper, Jhalea Skipper, Jarvis Bradley, Jadah Bradley, Ariona Thomas, and Boston Sinegal.
