Orphey D. Lewis, 77, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in a Houston, TX hospital.  Orphey was a native of Lake Charles, LA and a resident of Houston.  She was born on March 8, 1942 to the late Gussie & T. J. Lute.  Orphey was a well-know musician, serving as a musician for various churches and groups for many years in Lake Charles and surrounding areas.  She was a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA., pastored by Reverend Lionel Jones.

Orphey leaved to cherish her memories, two daughters, Janet Thymes and Maxine McGregory; three grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Jerry Lewis, and Qujuana Anderson; one brother, Rocky Lute; two sisters, Gustavia Belle and Christene Lute.

Orphey was preceded in death by her parents, Gussie and T. J. Lute; one son, Robert E. Lewis, Jr;

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3425 5th Avenue, Lake Charles, LA.  Reverend Lionel Jones will officiate.  Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services.  Final arrangements are entrusted to Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
