Pastor Roy D. Harmon
was called from his earthly life at Jennings American Legion Hospital and went home to join his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Reverend Harmon was born in Lake Charles, LA to his loving parents, Dorothy Berry & Daniel Harmon. He was a resident of Kinder LA and a 1979 graduate of Oakdale Vo-Tech School. He and was employed by Gulf Air Management Company in Jennings, LA as a Maintenance Lineman. Reverend Harmon was the Pastor of the Love of Christ Ministries Church in Jennings,
Left to cherish Pastor Harmon's memories are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Harmon; one daughter, Dorian (Kaleb) Coleman; two sons, Seth Harmon of Beaumont, TX., and Joshua Harmon of Kinder, LA; four sisters, Patricia (Lincoln) Doucet of Lake Charles, LA, Dinah (Clarence) Fontenot of Denver, CO., Ruby Harmon of Oberlin, LA. and Rosetta (Donald) Prudhomme of Kinder, LA; two grandsons, Kameron Coleman and Karson Coleman; sister-in-law, LaDora Harmon of Oberlin, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel & Dorothy Harmon; brother, Carl Ray Harmon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Love of Christ Ministries Church in Jennings, LA. with Bishop Gregory Cooper, Sr., Senior Pastor of Antioch & Morning Star Full Gospel Baptist Churches located in Baton Rouge, LA. Baptist Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in the David James & Rosa W. Fondel Church Chapel in Jennings, LA., and will resume on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 7:00 am until the time of funeral at the Love of Christ Ministries Church. Interment will be in St. John Church Cemetery in Oberlin, LA., under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
