On February 4, 2023. the Lord called home his daughter, Rachel Annette Lyons.  Rachel was born in Jennings, Louisiana to the late Herman and Edith Jones on January 29, 1944.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Mount Triumph Baptist Church, where she served as an usher for many years.  She was joined in holy matrimony to Junius Lyons, Sr. for over 45 years where together they raised five children.

Rachel was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School.  She worked in the food industry with different restaurants and the school system.  She was a member of the Labor Union Local 207.  She was also a devoted housewife, cook, babysitter, and teacher to her family and the community children.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Edith Jones; her sons, James Anthony Jones, Phillip Lyons, and Gerard Lyons; her siblings, Lou Ellen Alexander, Nellie Berry, Billy Jones, Cleveland Jones, and Willie Jones, Sr.

Rachel leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Junius Lyons, Sr; two sons, Junius (Sharon) Lyons, Jr. of Jennings, LA., Emile Lyons of Jennings, LA; one daughter, Sabrina Drake of Jennings, LA; one brother, Herman J. Jones, Sr. of Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Neva Jasper (James) of Beaumont, TX; her grandchildren, Amber, Desmond, Jacob, Keshawn, Maegan, Razelle, Antoine, Shanna, Phillip Jr., Travin, Bethanie, and Junius III; twenty-two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, LA.  Visiting will be in the Chapel from 1 pm until the time of Celebration Services.  Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
