Rayford James Johnson, age 67, was born on March 12, 1959, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Martha Jean Johnson and Eddie Scott Sr.  He peacefully departed this life at his home on July 7, 2026.  Rayford graduated from Job Corps in McKinney, Texas.  He worked as a cook in Oklahoma City for many years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and kind spirit. Rayford had a deep love for dancing, and he and his sister, Sondra, won numerous dance contests during their younger years. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends, his strength, his warm heart, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.  He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to inspire his family, devoted friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and presence.  

Rayford is survived by his sisters, Debra L. Walker and Joanetta Boutte, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sondra Michelle Boutte, Sophia (Clinton) Perry,  Ann Vital, and his bonus sisters, Racheal Boutte and Lynn Boutte, all of Jennings, Louisiana; his brothers, John Boutte Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Wendell Scott of Jennings, Louisiana, and Walter Scott of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his aunt, Betty Johnson; one special niece, Renata Scott; one special nephew, John Moss; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Rayford was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Martha Jean Johnson-Boutte; his father, Eddie Scott Sr.; his stepfather, John Berchman Boutte Sr.; his brothers, George C. Boutte and James E. Boutte; his sister, Charlene Singal; and his aunt, Ruthie Mae Johnson. 

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever.
