Reverend Darius LeMalle, Sr., 68
On December 31st, 2017, Angels descended from Heaven to the home of Reverend Darius LeMalle, Sr., 68, to bring him home to his Heavenly Father. Darius a twin (Dorothy) was born on the beautiful day of August 10, 1949, in Ville Platte, LA. to Claro Mae Semien-LeMalle and Murphy LeMalle. Darius was educated in the Evangeline Parish School System and was a graduate of Ville Platte High.
In the early years of Darius' life, he was ready for the world and wanted to live life to its fullest; he married and moved to Lake Charles, LA. to make a better life for himself and to start a family. God blessed Darius to have three beautiful children that he loved dearly and dedicated his life providing for them. In his early twenties, Darius had a divine calling placed on his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He later became an Ordained Minister at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA by the late Reverend Hearnest Arvie. Reverend Darius LeMalle, Sr. loved his divine calling and later became Pastor of Second Baptist Church in Eunice, LA., where he served faithfully for twenty-six years. Reverend LeMalle was the founder and pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA until his health failed. As a man of God, he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and leading people to Christ. He truly felt that he fulfilled his duty and promise to God when people accepted Christ through his ministry.
Darius was employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board Office and retired after over thirty years of dedicated service. Darius was blessed to live a full life; he loved fishing and was a perfectionist at it. He enjoyed helping people through his carpentry and mechanic skills; people would call him all the time for help with various needs and he was always willing to do what he could to help them.
Darius leaves to cherish his love and many memories, one daughter, Sallye LeMalle Edwards and (husband Steven) of Jennings, LA; two sons, Derrick Lemalle (girlfriend Monica) and Darius LeMalle, Jr. (girlfriend Tara) both of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Tori Malbrew (husband VaShone), Tre LeMalle, Alexis Luskey, Michael LeJeune, Marcus LeJeune, Martin LeJeune ne, Caleb Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Dawson Osswald, Alaya LeMalle, and Taven Poullard; brothers, Lionel Joseph LeMalle, Sr. OfMamou,LA. and Yolen LeMalle (wife, Martha); sisters, Clark Ann LeMalle-Finley (husband, Lovell of Frierson, LA., Mary Ethel Williams (husband, Eddie) of Pineville, LA., Patricia Ann Hunter (husband, Jerome) of Slidell, LA. and Clareka LeMalle-Larnet (husband, Alanzo) of Villegas Platte, LA; Godparents, Mary Ellen and Antoine Semien, Sr; great-grandchildren, Serenity Malbrew and Seriyah Malbrew; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Darius was preceded in death by his father, Murphy LeMalle; mother, Clark Mae Semien-LeMalle; brothers, Nolan LeMalle and LeeElvis LeMalle; sisters, Dorothy LeMalle, Theresa Smith and Marylease LeMalle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ninth Baptist Church, 726 N. Latour Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586 with Reverend Avery LaMalle officiating. Visitation will be in the church at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral. Burial will follow in the Ninth Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
