Ricky Joe Leday, Sr. was born on September 18th, 1953 in Beaumont, Texas to his proud parents, Alvert and Ella Leday. He was the youngest of four children. He was a graduate of Hebert High School in Beaumont, Texas. He continued this formal education by attending Lamar State University, majoring in Engineering and graduating Summa Cum Laude.
On January 24, 1998, he was united in holy matrimony to Annette Deloris Thomas which lasted 22 years. They had one daughter and one son. Ricky was talented in landscaping, gardening, and being a mathematician. He enjoyed going on vacations to the mountains with his family. He loved driving his vans.
Ricky became a member of Refuge Temple Ministries under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. He immediately began working in Ministry. He was an Ordained Deacon and Minister. Ricky worked on the Usher Board as Head Usher. He also worked with the Fellowship and Special Events. He always was willing and able to help in the ministry and other auxiliaries.
Ricky was employed by Pumpelly Rela Dyne LLc. as a Fuel Driver. He also helped out his long-time friend, Dr. Larry Stewart with landscaping.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ella Leday; one sister, Joyce Marie Leday Seal, and one infant daughter, Empress Leday.
Brother Ricky Leday leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving and devoted wife of 22-years, Annette Leday; one daughter, Courtney Brown Leday; one son, Ricky Joe Leday Jr; two brothers, Albert Leday and Ronnie (Fannie) Leday of Beaumont, TX; a sister-in-law, Michelle Johnson; five brother-in-laws, Coy (Candy) Thomas, Sylvester Thomas of Sulphur, LA, James (Mary) Thomas of Welsh, LA, Glenn (Brenda) Thomas of Jennings, LA and Lee Titus Thomas of New Orleans, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends; his loving pet, Bella; future son-in-law, Brandon LaVan and Future daughter-in-law, Rebecca Benoit.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11:00 am, in Faith Deliverance Temple Church, 4772 Powell Road, Elton, LA. Brother James Thomas of Refuge Temple in Lake Charles, LA. will officiate. Visiting will be held in the church from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral.
