Robinson McZeal, Jr., 90, quietly transitioned from his earthly labor to Heavenly reward on October 9, 2021, at Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings, Louisiana. Brother McZeal was a resident of Lake Arthur, LA. He was born on April 1, 1931 to the late Robinson McZeal, Sr. and Viola Richmond McZeal. Robinson served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Brother McZeal was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Lake Arthur, LA., pastored by Reverend Emerson Baty. He formerly served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School Department at the church. He was formerly employed as a Greeter at the Jennings Wal Mart.
Brother McZeal is survived by his children, Arthur Cormier of Houston, TX., Carl (Melody) McZeal of Sacramento, CA., Anthony Ramon McZeal of Auburn, WA., Debra McZeal of San Francisco, CA., and Tyra (Candace) Hebert of Jennings, LA; two stepkids, Gregory Minefield of Lake Arthur, LA., and Latonya Hebert (Sean) Adams of Olympia, WA; his brothers, Richard Higginbotham of Jennings, LA. and Don McZeal of Lake Charles, LA; his sisters, Dorothy Smith of San Antonio, TX., Gail (Lee) Evans of Scott, LA., and Annette (Joseph) Thomas of Lafayette, LA; his 19 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids, and 1 great-great grandkid; his former wife, Mrs. Vendea McZeal Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Brother McZeal was preceded in death by his father, Robinson McZeal Sr; his mother, Viola Richmond-McZeal; two wives, Patricia Hebert-McZeal and Maddie McZeal; 3 children, Vernon McZeal, Vincent McZeal, and WilFretta Cormier; 2 grandkids, Marquissa Hebert and Shawntae Randolph; 3 sisters, Velma Johnson, Fannie Bush, and Leatha Guillory; 3 brothers, Herman Higginbotham, Eddie Higginbotham, and Rainey McZeal.
Celebration of Life Services for Brother Robinson McZeal, Jr. will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Antioch Baptist Church, 625 Iowa Avenue, Lake Arthur, LA. Reverend Emerson Baty will officiate. Visiting will be in the church from 9:00 am until the time of celebration services. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army. In honor of Robinson's life and memory, Trendell Eaglin, Anthony McZeal, Gregory Minefield, Mallory Davis, Jeremy Davis, Sean Adams, Korey Hebert, and Cooper Semien will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer are Carl McZeal, Anthony McZeal, Tyra Hebert, Arthur Cormier, Don McZeal, and Richard Higginbotham.
