Ronald Douglas Hawkins' Obituary
Mr. Ronald Douglas Hawkins, Sr. departed this life peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Hew was born in Lafayette, LA on March 10, 1951 to the late Murrell Lee Hawkins and Louisiana Thomas Hawkins. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He graduated form H. C. Ross High School of Crowley, LA. He attended college at University of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette, LA for 3-years. After college, he pursued a career in the Oilfield Industry, working at Superior Oil Company, later known as Exxon Mobil. He retired after 37-years. Ronald married the love his life, Clevetta Antoinette Dorio. During this union, 2-Childfren were born. BB enjoyed to hunt and work in his yard. His garden was his pride and joy. The "Governor" will be truly missed.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Clevetta D. Hawkins; two children, Ronald Hawkins, Jr. (Keiyana) of Lafayette, LA. and Meggin A. Hawkins of Jennings, LA; three grandchildren, Jaelyn Price & Christian Hawkins, both of Lafayette, LA., and Kaidence G. Hawkins of Jennings, LA; three godchildren Arthur McClelland, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA., Charles Wilridge, Jr. and Rochelle Davis of Jennings, LA., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Murrell and Louisiana Hawkins; his sister, Veronica Hawkins and brother, Ollie Hawkins, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jennings, LA., with Father Charles McMillian officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am in the cburch. Interment will be in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery in Mermentau, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA
