Ronald Amest, Sr. was quietly called home to be with the Lord on July 12th, 2017, surrounded by family.

Ronald Amest Sr., 62 years old, was born on November 21, 1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. To Mary B. Amest and the late Joseph Amest. Ronald was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge.

He was reared in a Christian home where he accepted Christ at an early age.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Amest; his sisters, Gwendolyn Amest and Pricilla Amest.

Ronald leaves to Cherish his memory, his loving mother, Mary B. Amest of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his children, Ronald Amest, Jr., Pastor Nathan (Porscha) Amest, Sr., Tamika (Phillip) Badoo, all of Macon, Georgia and Shaquille Guillory of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his brothers, Joseph C. Amest, Joseph S. Amest, Jerome Amest and Michael Briscoe all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a nephew, niece and great nephew who all lived with him; grandchildren, JaQuan, Jhlah, Jazmyn, Nathan, Jr., Noah and Nolan Amest, Jordyn, Jurnee, Justice, and Josiah Badoo, all of Macon, Georgia; mother of his children, Peggy Amest, of Macon, Georgia; special cousins, Lennett (Robert) Johnson, and Jacqueline (Lernest) Green, and their family all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 2333 See Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Visitation will be held in the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Celebration Services.  Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Semien- Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, Louisiana.
