Roy Allen Mayfield, 72, a native and resident of Jennings, LA entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.  Roy was born on May 1, 1950 in Jennings, LA and was educated in the Jefferson Davis Parish School System.  Roy dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and later became a Deacon with White Temple Church of God In Christ, pastored by Irving Mouton Sr.  Roy retired from Moncla Companies after several years of service as a Fork Lift Operator.  He enjoyed watching sports, giving rides to people in need, and photography.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Shawn Maris and Tony Mayfield; one daughter, Mable Arceneaux; his former wife, Mary Mayfield; his brothers, Warren Hector (Barbara) and Brandon Johnson (Connie); five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Leri Johnson; brothers, Raymond Johnson, Levi Johnson, Jr., and Marvin Johnson; sisters, Merline Johnson and Lynette Johnson.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Church Chapel at Semien-Lewis Mortuary, 819 N. State Street in Jennings, LA.  Pastor Irving Mouton, Sr. will officiate.  Visiting with family and friends will be in the Chapel from 9:00 am until the time of celebration services.  Burial will be in the Silverwood Community Cemetery in Silverwood, LA. under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
