Ruthie Mae Johnson, 74, a resident of Jennings, LA., passed away on November 5, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.  Ruthie was born on July 16, 1948, in Jennings, LA to Mary Norman & Norris Johnson, Sr.  She departed this life on November 5, 2022.  She was a member of Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church in Jennings, LA and served as Treasurer.

Ruthie attended elementary & high school in Jennings, LA.  Pursing further education, she joined the Job Corp in McKinley, Texas, finishing in Welding.  Ruthie was employed at Lee Vac Shipyard in Mermentau, LA as a Certified Welder.  Ruthie loved to cook and bake, always willing to share her counties with all tongues, nationalities, and creeds.  Her home was a haven of refuge, where many less fortunate were welcome.  So caring, warm, and loving.  Ruthie was God's angel with a heart of gold.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mary & Norris Johnson, Sr.; son, Marlon Johnson; sister, Martha Johnson Boutte; brother, Norris Johnson, Jr.

Ruthie leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Aurthur Johnson of Jennings, LA; daughter, Charlynn Johnson of Jennings, LA; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 3 sisters, Shirley, Florence of Lafayette, LA, Mary Babineaux of Crowley, LA, and Betty Johnson of Jennings, LA; aunt, Gloria Chevis; devoted nieces, Debra Walker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sondra Boutte of Jennings, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
