In Loving Memory of
Sidney Jack, Jr.
September 19, 1951 – September 7, 2024
U.S. Air Force Veteran

Mr. Sidney "Lemme" Jack, Jr., 72, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Deridder Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Deridder, LA, where he resided.

Sidney was born on September 19, 1951, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Sidney Jack, Sr., and Edna Henry Jack of Elton, LA., and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elton, LA.  He was a proud 1969 graduate of Katie B. Thomas High School and enjoyed woodworking and basketball in school. In March 1971, just a few years after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He successfully completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, as a Vehicle Operator and Dispatcher.  His follow-on duty assignment in this role was with the 824th Transportation in Okinawa, Japan.  After three years of service, he received an honorable discharge in June 1974. Upon returning home, Sidney worked with his father and eventually became self-employed doing a variety of carpentry tasks and was contracted for plant jobs. In addition, he loved fishing, riding horses, planting crops, making furniture, and spending time with friends. At one point, he even started a community group called the Goodwill Men's Club with several men in Elton.

Sidney leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Jarah Jack Lindo (Reano), one granddaughter Paisley Lindo, and one grandson Roman Lindo, all residing at Fort Jackson, SC; his former wife, Acquanetta Livingston of Elton, LA; one sister, Debra Woolridge (Charley) of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers, Israel Jack of Opelousas, LA, and Harvey Jack of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Sidney "Shine" Jack, Sr., and his older brother, Chris Lavan, of Elton, LA.

The service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Faith Deliverance Temple in Elton, LA. Visitation with family and friends will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be immediately following services, at the Eternal Rest Cemetery in Elton, LA, under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
