Sonya Ital Johnson, 50, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Sonya was born in Houston, Texas on November 17, 1969, to Cassie Lee Johnson and Howard Wright. She was a resident of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA, pastored by Father Jay Alexius.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Imesiah J. Johnson and Brennan Johnson, both of Lake Arthur, LA; four sisters, Shitonda Johnson, Barbara Parker, Joquita Banks, and April Banks.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol "Carrie" Lee Johnson, grandmothers Gussie Jackson and Carolyn Gray; Aunts, Elizabeth Jackson, Maggie Hicks, Janet Jackson; one uncle, Willie Wright; a host of relative and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 31, 2020, Semien-Lewis Mortuary Church Chapel with Reverend Terry Lee officiating.  Visiting will be in the Chapel from 9:00 am until the time of services.
