Susie Mae Pattum

Susie Mae Washington-Pattum, 76, of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the Jeff Davis Living Center after a lengthy illness.  Susie was born in Jennings, LA, on August 2, 1949, to the late Rosa Mae Brown-Washington and Willis Washington.  She was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System and graduated from Jefferson Davis High School.  Susie later worked as a Seamstress at a Clothing Factory.  Susie was married to the late James Owen Pattum.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.  She was a faithful member of Mt Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA, currently pastored by Reverend Dr. Kieran D. Coleman.  She loved sewing and working with Arts & Crafts, and she always served with the Vacation Bible School Program at the Church. Susie also served as the Sunshine Band Choir Director, an Officer with the Junior Mission, and Sunday School Teacher.

Susie is survived by her son, Terrance Ray Pattum of Lafayette, LA; her siblings, Jane Mouton (Samuel) of New Orleans, LA and Darold Washington (Judy) of Pheonix, AZ; two godchildren, Joseph Boudreaux and Quaniesha Pattum; a devoted cousin, Karen Lynette Brown; a devoted friend, Berneta G. Bias a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James Pattum; her parents, Rosa Brown-Washington and Willis Washington; her siblings, Doraphene Boudreaux, Quilla Washington, Haley Washington, Willis Washington Jr, and George Washington.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Kieran D. Coleman officiating.  Visiting with family and friends will be held in the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration Services.  Burial will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
