Terry James Achane

Mr. Terry James Achane, 62, of Welsh, LA, entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2026, at his residence in Welsh, LA.  Terry was born on January 8, 1964, in Lake Charles, LA, to Mildred Achane and Earnest Viney.  He was a lifelong resident of Welsh, LA.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh, LA, pastored by Reverend Nathan Stevens.

Terry loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking, music, and playing in the casino.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Viney; two brothers, Lawrence Vickers and Robert Levi; and his grandmother, Ola Mae Viney; his uncles, David Achane "Uncle Joe", Willie Achane Jr "Uncle Shine", Clifford Achane, Clifton Achane, James Viney, Robert Earl, and Arthur Viney; his aunts, Pearl Brown and Melissa Achane; and one nephew, Rayzel Jackson.

Terry leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Akika Achane Miller; two stepsons, Torri Achane & Cedric Achane; his grandchildren, Dayonne Richard, Hakeem Richard, Kearyck Achane, Norman Achane, Norjayah Achane, and Jarvis Pierre Jr; his great-grandchildren, Averie Carter, Kayvah Achane, Draven Gray Achane, Lamiya Williams, Armon Williams, Ka'Zyn Achane, Ki'Zyn Achane, Kyndal Achane, Karter Edwards, Kaila Achane, Kaiser Richard, Jamiya Pierre, Khamyri Richard, Nova Eaglin, and Quiizha Lowdins; his mother, Mildred Achane; three brothers, Roy Achane, Earnest Achane, and Keith Achane; one sister, Robbin Levi; his aunts, Elvina Dugas, Rose Sonnier, Mary Handy, and Bernadine; one uncle, Rolland Viney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for Terry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh, LA., with Reverend Nathan Stevens officiating.
