Verma Ann LaFleur-Gloston, 68, a native and life-long resident of Welsh, LA passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh. Verna was born on February 22, 1950 in Welsh, LA to her loving parents, Delbert LaFleur and Velma Lewis-LaFleur. She was a graduate of Bethune High School in Welsh, LA., Class of 1968 and a graduate of Sowela Vocational Institute in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program. Verma was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Welsh, LA., where she was a member of the Ladies Auxillary.
Verma leaves to cherish her memories, her spouse, William Gloston; one daughter, Vakiesha Darnell Thibodeaux (Edmond Thorne); two brothers, Delbert LaFleur (Paulette) and Donald LaFleur; three sisters, Vernetta Marie Lampkin (Nathaniel), Veronica Sue Thompson (Flenoy) and Vera Lee Brown (Eddie); three grandchildren, Va'Lexus, Ahmad and Armor Thorne; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Verma was preceded in death by her parents, Dalbert Antoine LaFleur and Velma Helen Lewis-LaFleur; son, Joseph Frank Thibodeaux, Jr; daughter, Veldrada Thibodeaux; brother, Darrell LaFleur; two nieces, VaShayla LaFleur and VcQuetta LaFleur; former spouse, Joseph Frank Thibodeaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church,
310 North Sarah Street, Welsh, LA. 70591 with Pastor Reverend Jude Fernando, T.O.R. officiating. Visitation will be held in the church from 8:00 am until time of funeral. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
