Ms. Veronica Ruth Hawkins, 74 Ms. Hawkins entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Jeff Davis Living Center. Veronica was born in Lafayette, LA., on October 6, 1936 to the late Murrell Lee Hawkins and Louisiana Thomas Hawkins. She was a former Secretary for H.C. Ross High School in Crowley, LA., and retired from Superior Oil Company as a production clerk. Ms. Hawkins was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Veronica leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers; Ronald Douglas (Clevetta)Hawkins Sr. of Jennings, LA., and Ollie Joseph (Marla) Hawkins of Lake Arthur, LA. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Semien-Lewis Mortuary Church Chapel with Reverend Dr. Stacy S. Poullard, Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Mermentau, LA. officiating under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary, LLC. Visitation will be from 7:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel until the time of Celebration Services. Interment will be in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery in Mermentau, LA.
