Walterine Capdeville was born in Jennings, Louisiana, to the late Walter Joseph Capdeville and late Audrey Kately Capdeville on August 25, 1958. She was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend G.C. Chaney at Union Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member that loved the Lord, her pastor and her church.
Walterine began her early education in the Jeff Davis Parish School System, a graduate of Jennings High School class of 1976. She attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles and College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas, where she received her paralegal certification then later moved to Houston, Texas. She began her career employed at a law firm. Then later worked at Amoco. After living in Panama, Central America; and then Newport News, Virginia; for some years she returned to her hometown of Jennings, LA. Walterine rejoined her membership with Union Baptist Church and began employment at Walmart.
Walterine's beautiful life ended on Thursday, April 28, 2022. She leaves to cherish her, a daughter, Yunka Pointer (Vincent) of Houston, TX, and a son, Idris Omar Pointer (Samantha) of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Dominique Collins, Ja'Marquis Pointer, Aaliyah Pointer; three sisters, Trudy Capdeville, Sheroyne Capdeville and Myna Capdeville; three brothers, Don Kately, Andromeche Capdeville and Eric Capdeville; one aunt, Lizzie Kately Syas, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special loved ones Roosevelt Cormier, Godmother Georgia Murray, and Dovie Gardner; Special friends from the class of 1976.
She was preceeded in death by her father, Walter Joseph Capdeville; her mother, Audrey Kately Capdeville; her brother, Darrell G. Kately; her sister, Debra Capdeville and Geraldine Roy; her maternal grandparents, Rivers and Libby R. Kately; and her maternal grandmother, Bell Lewis Garrett.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am in Union Baptist Church, 1014 South Main Street, Jennings, LA with Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr. officiating. Visiting with family and friends will be in the church from 10:00 am until the time of celebration services. Interment will be in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
