Woodrow Pierre, 70 Woodrow Pierre was born to Mae Hilda and Clarence Pierre on November 3, 1941 in Welsh, Louisiana. He was a deacon at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age by Rev. Arthur White. Woodrow was employed by the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office for 7 years. On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, the Lord called Woodrow home to rest. Woodrow will be forever remembered by his devoted wife Gertie Pierre; children Latonya Pierre, Woodrow Pierre, Jr, Teisha Smiley, Shaneisha Prudhomme, Michael Prudhomme, Jr. and Artresis Prudhomme; sisters Edith Smith, Linda Loyd, Pauline Otterbridge, Evelyn Fontenot; brothers Clarence J. Pierre, Erick Pierre, Rev. Joseph Mitchell, Jr., and Charlie Mitchell; grandchildren Shonjerika Smiley, Quanjerika Smiley, Jayden Smiley and Ka'Lynn Prudhomme; lastly, he leaves a host of uncles, aunts, neices, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Pierre and Mae Hilda Pierre Mitchell; also his stepfather Joseph Mitchell, Sr; one brother Lindberg Pierre; two sisters Katherine Pierre Handy and Eva Ruth Mitchell. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Union Baptist Church in Jennings, LA. with Reverend Nathan T. Stevens officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the church.
